Breathe Easy
Wearing a mask can be challenging, especially in summer’s heat. The first few questions in this excellent Q&A describe how to breathe more comfortably in a maskāand every area of life.
Here’s how to breathe all the time, not just in a mask:
- Breathe through the nose only
- Breathe more slowly, aiming for about six breaths per minute
- Breathe low, directing air into the lower lungs (not the chest)
We discovered this material in an excellent and oh-so-readable book we just finished and highly recommend: Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nestor.
We’re changing the way we breathe and starting to practice daily exercises to improve our breathing. Maybe you’d like to practice breathing easier too.
