A Massage Can Last a Long Time

SXC gabriel77 SundialWhen you schedule a bodywork appointment, the body can start to feel better in anticipation. Then there’s the experience of the treatment itself. Afterward, the benefits of the treatment may last from hours to days or even longer.

Clients ask how often to schedule bodywork appointments. Whether it’s once a week or once a month, we’ve found that clients who have a regular appointment set up enjoy the longest lasting benefits between treatments.

The nervous system knows when there are just two weeks until the next treatment. That sets up an expectation of lasting positive effects between one treatment and the next. The placebo effect, or how the mind’s expectations affect the body, can be powerful in helpful ways.
