Paying it forward

In our Bodywork Rates page, we say:

Any amounts paid to us that exceed our fees, we will donate to a local nonprofit or put toward the cost of treatment for people who need, but cannot afford, our services.

A client took us up on it, paying $20 above the cost of treatment to be held for someone who could use help paying for theirs.

When a client makes that offering, we create a gift certificate for the amount of their contribution. We hold it for a client who requests our services but cannot afford them.

By accepting gratuities only in the form of donation to charities or toward clients who need financial assistance, we offer clients the opportunity to do well (by getting bodywork) while doing good (helping others get bodywork).

Check out the health benefits of helping others, according to the respected Cleveland Clinic’s News Wire:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Less depression
  • Lower stress levels
  • Longer life
  • Greater happiness
